Radde’s Accentor

One of the many highlights of my trip to southern and central Turkey was a trip into the mountains. There we saw Caspian Snowcock, Asian Crimson-winged Finch, Snowfinch, Wallcreepers, Rockthrush and the striking Radde’s Accentor. The accentors were present in small numbers, a few singing from snowy rocks. My photograph doesn’t do them justice, but they are simply stunning birds.
